This time we got to go through the Palace and it was amazingly beautiful!!!
After that we quietly entered the old Mozarteum building and watched an orchestra practice. It was in the Golden Hall and if you look at the back wall, you can see the organ that Jonathan gets to play on Friday night for the opening concert!!!
Jonathan practiced for 3 hours while I went back to the hotel for a nap.
We had lunch at a little cafe call L'Ostra which serves Italian food and had, not only one of the best pasta dishes ever, but also one of the biggest pizzas I've ever seen! It takes personal pan to a whole new level!!!
After lunch we caught a bus to Hellbrunn Palace. This is known in America as the sight of the glass cathedral in The Sound of Music, and the front steps are also used in the movie as the front of the Von Trapp house.
The inside of the palace is not the inside of the house that you see in the movie however.
The most charming part of this palace was the "trick fountains".
These fountains are strategically hidden through out the palace grounds and go off suddenly, drenching the visitor. The Archbishop who built the palace was somewhat of a practical jokster.
This is a picture of the out door dining table with fountains in them. He would set them off when he was ready for his dinner guests to leave.
We came back to our hotel and Jonathan promptly gathered his music and headed off to practice for his lesson.
Another street side cafe is in our future when he finishes up. Until tomorrow then, dear friends, I bid you auf wiedersehen!!
Checking to see if my comment works. :)
