Day 1

Recap of our travels--

We left on Sunday after church to head to Hot Springs, where Jonathan played at First United Methodist Church. He was very well received and got two standing ovations!

Monday morning we got up and drove to the Hot Springs Convention Center, where Jonathan gave his first ever keynote speech! (Yay!) He did an amazing job speaking and also got a standing ovation after finishing his impromptu medley.

We drove to Little Rock shortly there after and hopped on our first flight. We sat in the plane for a while because, as the pilot put it, "Mother Nature has decided to mess with us". The weather cleared up after a bit and we were off to Atlanta! We arrived just in time to board our second flight to Amsterdam. This flight was the longest and hardest. It was around 8 hours long and we left at 10:30pm. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep.

We arrived in Amsterdam and had a 2 hour layover, so we stopped for coffee before making our way through customs. We got on our last flight and headed to Munich, Germany. When we arrived, we were informed we only had 20 minutes to catch the train. So we can down and found our train, traveled for 30 minutes, then had to get off and board another train to Salzburg, Austria. All in all it took us around 2 hours yo get to Salzburg and find our hotel.

We checked in, found a cute sidewalk cafe to eat traditional German food in, and crashed after having been awake for 28 hours and traveling for 19.

Jonathan registered for his organ master class today and was officially accepted. (Phew!)
His instructor, Dr. Lucke, is a wild haired, good natured, man from Freiburg, Germany.

This is a recap of Tuesday and we'll let you know about all of our adventures of Wednesday!
Be sure to look at my Facebook for lots of pictures. More to come soon!
